The village of Sayalonga is in the region of La Axarquia de Malaga. It is situated at 359 mts over the sea level and its lower part is located next to the Turbillas river. The village stands on a mountain crest, being its buildings and streets adapted to the difficult orography of the area making Sayalonga a beautiful, special and very interesting village to visit.
The nispero (medlar fruit) is a highly esteemed fruit in this White village, so much so that the residents of this municipality observe a fiesta of long standing, which has been declared of National Tourist Interest in Andaluca.
Music rings out from every corner of the village and the fiesta lasts all day long. Another appreciated festivity is the fiestas of Nuestra Señora Del Rosario that takes place in October when the Virgin is carried in a pilgrimage procession from the church to the esplanade called "El Lavadero". Where takes place a fiesta with paella and wine tasting and merriment to the rhythm of the music and dance.
