Catalán is the language spoken in the Balearic Islands from the XIII century. It is its official language altogether with the Spanish. Catalan is also spoken in Catalonia, Valencia, Andorra and other territories, so it is spoken by more then 7 million people. With these two pages you can learn some words and expressions.

For more than 10 years has appeared on the islands provision for tourist services in the rural environment, a new form of tourism, far from the traditional tourism of sun and beach. This approach aims at speeding up the provisional tourist services in the countryside, partly in order to eliminate the great difficulty that exists in the gap between the farming income and the average of the regional income, and in this way avoid the constant exodus of young farmers from country to city in search of better economic revenue.
