Torremolinos Gastronomy

In Torremolinos you can try all the popular dishes of the Costa del Sol´s cuisine in particular and the Andalusian in general, not forgetting the more than 250 international restaurants offering Italian, German, English, Scandinavian, American, Indonesian, Chinese and Japanese cuisine, making it possible to satisfy other tastes and palates.

Nevertheless it is at the beach restaurants known as Chiringuitos where the visitor finds the most authentic dishes of the local cuisine, like its fried fish known as pescaito frito, this name became a trademark in la Carihuela in the early 60´s its paellas, coquinas, shellfish soup, sardines, salt baked fish and the refreshing and nutritious gazpacho, made with our local ingredients: olive oil, tomatoes, garlic, vinegar and that special touch make it unique.

Other highly recommended typical dishes from Malaga are without doubt, the roasted bell pepper salad, where the baked peppers are cut into strips and mixed with a little onion and tomato, and later marinated in oil, vinegar and salt; el adobo and fish with ali-oli. Among the desserts special mention goes to the typical Tortas de Aceite de Torremolinos.

Municipal Auditorium Principe de Asturias

The Municipal Auditorium Príncipe de Asturias seats up to 1.790 theatre style 5.668 cocktail/reception and 1.700 for Gala banquets. It is perfectly equipped for classical music concerts, ballet, theatre as well as all types of popular and cultural events; Seven dressing rooms, with an area of 197 square metres and three storage rooms.

The Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Centre

The formerly named Colegio de Huerfanos de Ferroviarios has been refurbished by the town hall of Torremolinos as a cultural centre. This building built between 1933 and 1936 protected and considered to be of cultural interest by the Junta de Andalucia, is an emblematic work of the Modern Movement.

Inaugurated the 12th of November 2001 the premises made up of 7000 square metres distributed on two floors, house the Municipal Cultural Workshops. The University School of hotel and Tourism of the Alcala University theatre, cinema, exhibition halls, library, newsprint library and archives.
