Madrid's climate is continental and Mediterranean because its location, it is strongly influenced by urban conditions.
In the Madrid weather the winters are cold, with temperatures below 4-5 ° C, frequent frosts and occasional snowfalls. Summers are hot with averages around 24 ° C in July and August, with highs sometimes exceeding 35 ° C. The daily oscillation is important in the urban periphery, but is reduced in the center of the city by the anthropic effect. The annual temperature range is high (19 degrees, a figure typical of the southern plateau) due to the large distance to the sea and the altitude (around 600 m). The annual rainfall is above 400 mm, with a very marked minimum in summer (four dry months from June to September).
