At the foot of the rock, there are extensive sugar cane plantations and beautiful beaches.
From Salobreña, after having walked about 11 km. along the national road nº 340 to Almuñécar, we shall take at the km. nº 337 a track to the left, and walking on in same direction we shall arrive at the Velilla beach. After crossing the beach we shall reach the road to Velilla town, and, from here, to Almuñécar in a while.
Almuñécar is the most important town in the coast. It has numerous beaches: Velilla, Puente de Mar, San Cristóbal, Rincón de la China, El Pozuelo, El Benaguer, etc.
The beaches are separated by sharp cliffs and La Amijare hillside, with plantations of sugar cane, avocados, cherimoya fuit, etc.
