San Juan Holidays
The characteristic extrovert nature of the Mediterranean
peoples is reflected in the many celebrations that are held throughout
the year in El Campello. Spring sees the neighbourhood fiestas,
such as the exceptional Barri del Creu festival in early may and
Barri de la Trinitat in early June. The Mig Any in mid May and Barri
de la Trinitat in early June. The Mig Any in mid- May with its Great
Ball, the Floral Offering and the entraeta of the Moors and Christians
are events that should not be missed.
The municipal It´s Summer campaign El Campello:
Estic d´Estiu includes the organisation of sports activities,
workshops, courses, entertainment on the beaches and shows in the
marine complex, as well as a Flamenco Festival that will became
a point of reference for all lovers of this art. Around 16th July
we celebrate the Fiestas in honour of the Virgen del Carmen, patron
saint of fishermen, with the Religious Maritime Procession, Firework
Display and many other events.
In October we celebrate the Town Fiestas in honour
of the Virgen de los Desamparados, from the 9th Fiesta of the Region
of Valencia to the 15 th Santa Teresa. Outstanding events include
the Moorish Landing at Clot de L´Illot , the Embassies and
the battles, the Moors and Christians Processions and the Fireworks
Display.
