Girona Beaches

The best beaches are between Girona Pals and Palafrugell. Today, this area is terribly close to Gerona airport. While over the past 30 years mass tourism has grown dramatically in the Costa Brava, there are still places where idyllic sunbathing away from the masses and where you can make a good dip into crystal waters. In addition the whole area has an excellent cuisine.

You need a car to explore the area and find out the different beaches along the coast, we highly recommend car hire Girona when coming for holidays to Gerona.

Best beaches in Girona

• Can Comes beach
  (Castelló d'Empúries, Girona)
  Nice place to enjoy Costa Brava beaches.
• Senyor Ramon
  (Santa Cristina d'Aro, Girona)
  Upon leaving the train, turn right and walk towards the twin towers. A 10 minutes walk from the station.
• El Castell beach
  (Palamós, Girona)
  Natural environment, it is not the same style as Mallorca beaches, in Balearic Islands, but still a nice beach to visit.
• Santa Cristina beach
  (Lloret de Mar, Girona)
  It is not a paradise, neither the worst beach.
• La Fosca beach
  (Palamós, Girona)
  Very touristic beach, looks like a Balearic Island cove. It is an urban beach.
• Cala Salionç beach
  (Tossa de Mar, Girona)
  A nice and clean beach, there is a good restaurant, bar supermarket and a path leads you to a natural pool between the rocks, great!
• Canyelles Petites beach
  (Palamós, Girona)
  Very natural environment, worth the visit.
• Empuriabrava beach
  (Castelló d'Empúries, Girona)
  Urban beach, not one of the best.
