Denia Festivals
Denia holds a miniature Fallas Festival March 16 to 20 burning effigies
on the final midnight. During Festa Major locals prove they’re
just as gutsy as their fellow countrymen in Pamplona – bulls
and fans drive as one into a pool of water a feat known as bous
a la mar.
In mid July the fiestas de la Santisima Sangre feature street dances,
concerts, mock battles, and fireworks over the harbour.
The parades and religious plays of the Fiesta de Moros y Cristianos
celebration also take place between August 14 and 17.
