The city of Almeria has been chosen as the 2005 Mediterranean
Games host.
The nations qualified for the Mediterranean Games are the
countries of the Mediterranean Sea, including African, Arab
and European participants.
Israel is an exception because has been consistently refused
entry into the games by the rest of the nations in the Mediterranean
Games Federation.
Each Mediterranean Games host city has to be a city situated
on the Mediterranean coast.
No inland city has ever hosted the games and women did not
participate until 1967.
