BENIDORM, Alicante
Located in the middle of the La Marina Baixa region, Benidorm is
one of the biggest tourist centres on the Costa Blanca, thanks to
its excellent beaches of fine-sand and clear waters and its mild
micro-climate, as well as for the great infrastructure of quality
services offer such as Hotels, restaurants ,leisure centres, etc….
Without no doubt the beaches are the first attraction of Benidorm
with a 5 km of coastline where you can sunbathing , swim , sail
,dive, etc…
Benidorm's historic quarter is situated on a promontory, between
its 2 principal beaches: Poniente and Levante.
And old fishing town dominated by the church of San Jaime from the
18th century , its bluish domes stand out among an intricate network
of narrow streets and alleyways.
The Balcón del Mediterraneo is on the Canfali hills peaks from where
there is a fantastic panoramic view of the sea.
Benidorm offers many recreational activities such as a promenade
walk leading to the park of L'Aigüera or an exciting and funny day
in the Mediterranean theme park "Terra Mítica".
There are also many boat excursions to the little island of Benidorm
-located in middle of the inlet-depart from the harbour.
Gastronomy
As for the rest of the Costa Blanca , seafood and rice dishes are
the basis of local gastronomy. Famous dishes as la Paella , ali-oli
sauce (mayonnaise with garlic) which accompanies many dishes.
The outskirts of Benidorm are beautiful.
With mountain chains and cliffs to the north all the way down to
the sea where they are located the towns of Altea and L'Alfas del
Pi. There is also the town of Calpe
next to the Rock of Ifach reserve.
